What are some ways to market a cookbook that I am writing about the heart health benefits of dark chocolate??
Marketing a book is not easy. (Been there, done that.)
Before you write the whole darn thing…I would contact a few gourmet food websites and gourmet stores to see if they are interested. Easier to sell to them directly than to go through a bookstore.
Layout your entire plan, including the title of each chapter. And include an excerpt from each chapter. See if they are interested. Make SURE to include your expertise in the area.
Unless you have a publisher, getting a book into a bookstore is an ENORMOUS uphill battle. One you may not win. Hate to say that, but no major bookstore will buy directly from you. At the very least, if you don’t have a publisher, you need a distributor. They ONLY BUY from distributors.
